What We Believe

Click on scriptures to see the text from the Holy Bible at BibleGateway.com.  There are many more scriptures for each area.  Just a few are listed.
The Holy Scriptures: The Bible is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21

The Eternal Godhead:  God exists forever as three persons in one - God, the Father; God, the Son; and God the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:29-30; John 14:26; Matthew 3:16-17

God is Love:  God loves everyone and it is His desire that everyone would come to Him and be made whole and well.  He came to heal the brokenhearted.
1 John 4:6; Psalm 147:3

The Fall of Man: Man was created in the image of God.  Man separated himself from God by sin and willful disobedience.  Without Jesus, man cannot be saved.
Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; John 10:7

The Plan of Salvation:  Even though man sinned, our heavenly father made a way for us to come back to Him through His Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the grave.  He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. By admitting that we have sinned and asking Jesus to be Lord of our lives, we can spend eternity with God.  We are saved by God's grace through faith and not by anything that we could ever do to earn salvation.
 (See Salvation Prayer page.)
John 3:16; Romans 3:24;  5:1;  5:6-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9

The New Birth: A real and tangible event takes place in the heart of man at conversion. 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Sanctified Life: It is the will of God that we live a holy, consecrated life every day.  We have been bought with a price and we belong to Jesus.
 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Water Baptism:  Immersion under water is an outward testimony of an inward work, a testimony and a way for believers to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4

Communion:  We honor the Lord and remember our covenant with Him by partaking of the Lord’s Supper by symbolic use of bread for His body and juice for His blood that He gave for us.
1 Corinthians 11:24-25; Luke 22:17-20

Baptism of the Holy Spirit:  The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father to endow the believer with power to be Christ’s witnesses. We believe it is a work subsequent to salvation and occurs in the same manner of the early church.
Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:4-8; 2:4; 4:31

Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit:  God gives all believers gifts.  The Holy Spirit’s activity in believers’ lives is the same today as the early church.  Living a Spirit filled life is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit in our character and the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in our lives and ministries.
Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Healing and Deliverance:  Jesus came to destroy the works of the evil one. He has given every believer faith, authority, and power to appropriate complete restoration (including physically, emotionally, and financially) and freedom for those who are sick and oppressed by the devil.
 James 5:16; Acts 10:38; John 20:21; Luke 9:11; Matthew 9:35, 10:1; Mark 11:22-24

The Second Coming of Christ:  Jesus is coming again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  Every knee will bow before Him.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Romans 14:11; Hebrews 9:28

Final Judgment:  We shall stand before God and give an account of our own lives.
2 Corinthians 5:10

Heaven:  Jesus will return again and take all those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior to be with Him for eternity.  Heaven is a real and wonderful place. It is the eternal home for all born again believers.
John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15,17; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28

Hell:  Hell is a real place of eternal torment for the devil and all who reject Christ as Lord and Savior.  It is a place of suffering and permanent separation from God.  It is God's desire that no person would go there, which is why He sent His Son Jesus.  See Salvation Prayer.
Revelation 20:10-15; John 3:16-18

Alms, Tithes and Offerings:   Everything we have belongs to the Lord.  The method ordained by God to build His church, support His servants, and spread the Gospel is by the giving of alms, tithes and offerings.  We are to give cheerfully as the Lord leads us.
2 Corinthians 9:7; Malachi 3:10

Reconciliation and Restoration:  It is our Father's desire that all should be saved.  He wants to restore and reconcile man to Himself.  Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundantly.
John 10:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 28: 18-20
